Mauritius IT Minister Visits I4C to Strengthen Cybercrime Cooperation
New Delhi: Avinash Ramtohul, Hon’ble IT Minister of Mauritius, visited the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), the Ministry of Home Affairs’ nodal agency for combating cybercrime. The Minister was received by I4C CEO Sh. Rajesh Kumar, who briefed him on India’s advanced initiatives and collaborative framework involving States and Union Territories to combat transnational cybercrime.
During the visit, the Minister was introduced to India’s comprehensive cybercrime response ecosystem, which integrates law enforcement, financial institutions, and technology partners to detect, prevent, and investigate cyber offences efficiently.
Visit to Cyber Fraud Mitigation Centre (CFMC)
The Minister also visited the Cyber Fraud Mitigation Centre (CFMC), a pioneering initiative of the Government of India. CFMC brings together banks, telecom operators, fintech companies, and State Police representatives under one roof to enable real-time coordination against cyber fraud. CFMC Director Sh. Badal Kaushik briefed the Minister on its operational structure and its role in preventing financial losses due to cyber fraud.
India’s Leadership in Cyber Diplomacy
India showcased its technological and regulatory strengths through platforms such as the Sahyog portal for crime prevention, Samanvay for cybercrime analytics and coordination, the Techno Legal Support Centre for assisting States and UTs, and the Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System (CFCFRMS). These initiatives have helped prevent and recover thousands of crores of defrauded money.
The visit highlights India’s growing leadership in cyber diplomacy and reflects strengthening international cooperation between India and Mauritius in combating cybercrime and enhancing cybersecurity capabilities.
