I4C, Home Ministry Leads delegation to Cambodia for transnational cybercrime cooperation
In a significant move to enhance international cooperation against online scams and cyber fraud, Senior Minister H.E. Santibindit Chhay Sinarith, Chief of the Commission for Combating Online Scam (CCOS) of Cambodia, received an Indian delegation led by Mr. Rajesh Kumar, CEO of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C) on 6 January 2026.
The meeting reflects the growing commitment of both countries to jointly address the increasing threat of transnational cybercrime and online financial fraud.
High-Level Discussions on Cybercrime Cooperation
The meeting was presided over by the Senior Minister along with H.E. Ambassador Vanlalvawna Bawitlung. Discussions focused on issues of mutual interest and future areas of cooperation in combating cybercrime.
Key areas discussed included:
- Countering cross-border online scams and cyber fraud
- Strengthening information and intelligence sharing mechanisms
- Enhancing institutional coordination between law enforcement agencies
- Capacity building, training, and technical cooperation
- Addressing emerging cyber threats such as impersonation scams, digital arrest fraud, and organized cybercrime networks
Both sides emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration to effectively respond to the evolving cyber threat landscape.
Meeting with Cambodian Anti-Cyber Crime Department
Following the meeting, the I4C delegation met Major General Sok Nitya, Director of the Anti Cyber Crime Department under the Cambodian Ministry of Interior.
The interaction focused on:
- Operational challenges in cybercrime investigations
- Strengthening law enforcement–to–law enforcement cooperation
- Exchange of technical expertise and investigative best practices
- Coordinated efforts to combat international cyber scam networks
Strengthening Regional and Global Cybersecurity
The visit highlights the shared resolve of India and Cambodia to safeguard citizens, financial systems, and digital infrastructure against cyber-enabled crimes.
Enhanced cooperation between I4C, CCOS, and Cambodian law enforcement agencies is expected to play a key role in tackling online scams and cyber fraud more effectively.
